MedTRACS is responsible for the implementation of field activities of the Marine Turtle Conservation and Research Project, the national programme of the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research (DFMR) for the long-term monitoring and protection of marine turtle nesting sites in Cyprus.
The project LIFE ADAPTS is a co-funded European Union initiative that aims to identify the impacts of climate change on marine turtles and the Mediterranean monk seal and to implement adaptation measures to ensure their populations continue to thrive in the Mediterranean.
Through a collaboration with the Sea Turtle Conservancy, MedTRACS uses satellite telemetry to study the movements and behaviour of marine turtles.
